Multi-media filter commonly used filter media are quartz sand, anthracite, manganese sand, fiber balls, walnut shells, fiber bundles, etc., mainly used for water treatment in addition to turbidity, but also can be used for softening water, pure water, such as pre-preparation, the turbidity of the water can be up to 3 degrees below.

Multi-media filter recommended filter layer collocation are:

1、Anthracite-Quartz sand-Magnetite filter

2、Activated carbon - quartz sand - magnetite filter

3、Activated carbon - quartz sand filter

4、Quartz sand-ceramic filter

5, Fiber ball-fiber ball filter

6, Comet fiber-comet fiber filter

7, Fiber bundle-Fiber bundle filter

8, Walnut shell-walnut shell filter, etc.

Filter layer design:

  • In the conventional configuration, the pebbles are divided into four sizes and bedded in a bottom-up fashion, large first and then small.

  • The relationship between the particle size of the filter media and the loading height

  • The ratio between the height of the filter bed and the average particle size of the filter media is 1000 to 1200 (design specification).

  • Relationship between particle size of filter media and filtration accuracy

  • The particle size of the lower layer of filter media is required to be smaller than the particle size of the upper layer of filter media

to ensure that the lower layer of filter media can be fully utilized.
